How to go within

Steps to flowing with shelter-in-place

  1. Keep attention on the facts you know. For example – You are breathing now. You can see the color of the curtains now, you can hear the birds now, you can feel the coolness of the air now.
  2. Follow instructions for your well being to the best of your ability.
  3. Seek out positive surroundings within your space and create a relaxation space reserved for you.
  4. Spend some time each day helping someone. This can be as easy as a call to a friend or an uplifting message to someone, or checking in with someone. Donate to a charity if you have resources or support a local business.
  5. Sit quietly three times daily – choose perhaps morning afternoon and evening. Sit or lay on your back comfortably for a minimum of 31 minutes using techniques that work for you. If you are new to meditation or relaxation practice simply listen to your breath and invite your mind to release negativity and welcome breath and possibility. Kundalini yoga, mindful meditation, creative visualization, self hypnosis are some effective practices.
  6. Explore conscious eating by eating slowly and in a relaxing manner. Practice enjoyment and in gratitude for nourishment.
  7. Exercise – dance in small spaces or shake and shiver for as long as you can or walk up and down your steps or yoga or kundalini. Please sweat and get heart rate up if it is healthy for you to do so.
  8. Listen to music twice a day for minimum of 15 minutes each time. Practice listening. Imagine your mind is repeating the music as it is being heard by your ears. Choose music that is pleasing to you. Wherever you are, you can practice deep listening; the city sounds, the nature sounds, all sounds. Deep listening brings you present to the moment which brings you radiance and creativity and intuition.
  9. Watch every episode of Seinfeld 5 times till you have it memorized and know every joke. 🙂

With these simple practices you will begin to go deeply inside. You may start noticing what is deeply meaningful and important to you. Once you notice what is important to you you may begin to get glimpses of the presence of beauty and love in all things. Because of the nature of polarity, then, all that is in the way of that love in all things will arise. Notice what arises and bless it and let it go. Find a saying that assists you in letting it go. I use Ho’ponopono (I’m sorry -please forgive -me -I love you -thank you) and my grandfathers wisdom- “these things always happen – but are you happy?” Find what works and comforts you and begin repeating it when negativity or fear or distractions come. Soon peace will come to you. Be patient and keep allowing this inward journey: you will reap many benefits – a confidence, peace in body and mind, and spiritual life that is stronger than any challenge.

Love,
Hari
